Been very busy at work recently. Working full time at CN Tower during the summer is not only fun but it also takes a lot of time away from me to take photos around the city. But rest assured, I got lots of photos already in the bag for you guys ready to be shared! Currently working on the next batch of the Beautiful Toronto Project and should be up in a few days. There is a constant flow of new photos in my collection so for sure we are not going to have any shortage of summer fun photos! Until next time, keep chillin'!

CN Tower

Victoria College Building
Hello Everyone!

It's been over a month since the last time I posted something new to this site. You can blame my new summer job at Toronto's CN Tower hehe. Well, even though I've been very busy at work, I still managed to walk around the city with trusty camera and snap some interesting photos for you! Actually, this latest addition in the website was taken a month ago before I started working and just didn't get the chance to upload them. So here they are! The photos this time around are photos from the University of Toronto again but I concentrated on the eastern side of the Campus where most of the Victorian style buildings are located. Alright that's that! You can click the photo above to see the newest photos in my collection. And you may also play the video below to see the photo slideshow of the newest photos made for YouTube. =D Even though I'm busy pictures are still continually being taken and edited by yours truly. In fact, there is already another batch of photos just waiting to be edited and shared to you guys. And don't forget that I will also be putting a new Set in the website called "Toronto from the Skies" which will have different photos of the city from the top of the Tallest Tower in the World, the CN Tower! =D Stay tuned! And Enjoy my newest photos!

Cheers,
Angelo Maralit

After months of searching in the internet I finally found a Canon EF 35mm f/2 lens used and for a really good price! Yeah, I'm not rich so I can't really buy lens from stores, they're just too expensive! The lens came with an official lens hood from Canon and a Tiffen UV filter. The entire package for $300. A pretty sweet deal when you consider the price of the items I got individually in retail stores. I haven't used the lens fully yet but I know I'm going to have a lot of fun shooting with this photo. When mounted to a crop sensor like the Canon Rebel XS, the focal length is effectively about 56mm which is pretty close ( a bit narrower) to what our eyes can see. This means that walking around downtown Toronto for some candid street photography will be much easier than before. I used to use the nifty-fifty (50mm lens) when doing street photography and I just found that lens to be a bit too narrow to frame the shots properly especially in crowded places downtown. So here's hoping for an awesome-tastic summer photography awesomeness with this new lens and all my other lenses! Woot!

If you want to see what the lens looks like, check out the "My Equipment" section under the "About Me" tab.

CN Tower from UofT
Finally school is over! For another 4 months at least =P. To make things a little bit more fun, I have organized the site even more to make everything look simple and clean. Furthermore, I got new photos for you guys! The Set "Buildings of UofT" has been updated with over 10 new photos. This time, the photos are taken from a different part of the campus and also this time, things are taken at night! To see the photos simply click here (or the photo above)! Also, if you would like to see the same set of pictures from YouTube, simply play the video below! Hope you like the photos I took for you guys! Remember, I'm always working on adding the best quality photos I can possible achieve for your viewing pleasure. More photos are sure to come!

It's that time of the year again folks. The part of the year every University student loves ... Exam Season! No really, some students are actually loving this season, but like the rest of the world, I do not like this season at all. Mind you I don't do bad on any of my exams, in fact I do fairly well in all of them. It's just the feeling it brings to us students that make me hate the Exam Season.

What feeling? The feeling of knowing that you are almost done the year and freedom is just right around the corner but you cannot get to it until you do all your exams. You want to take a shortcut but you know taking a shortcut will lead to a bottomless pit of failure so you decide to charge on. But every exam takes a lot away from you physically and mentally. Exhausted from the exam you just finished writing, you realize that you have another one tomorrow or worse in 2 hours! If you went to University or any form of higher education, you'll know what I mean.

However, the feeling (the feeling I will definitely have after I finish my last 2 exams in the coming week) quickly turns super sweet after the very last exam in your schedule. That freedom you've been longing for weeks is finally here and you are now free to do whatever you like! What exactly will I do after my exams? I'll tell you what I'll do:
  • Work for the summer (gotta earn some $$$ you know :D)
  • Start working out again. Believe it or not my University has a top of the line gym open to all students. But the workload keeps myself and a lot of my peers away from this awesome place. The summer is a perfect time to catch up on my miles, crunches, push-ups, curls, and more!
  • Go out more with friends and/or by myself
  • Go out more with my camera and capture more photos that I can showcase in this website for you guys to see and enjoy! =D.
  • Plan out a fairly elaborate photo shoot with a Michael Jackson theme and release it just in time for the anniversary of the King of Pop's death. Let's honor the entertainer everyone (well almost) in the world knows!
So that's my two cents for today. Why don't you let me know what you are going to do this summer? Post them on the comments below! ***

Some of the cars in the 2011 Canadian International Auto Show
After weeks of delay and after weeks of massive work loads in university (I still have lots ahead), the pictures from the 2011 Canadian International Auto Show are finally uploaded and ready to be seen in this wonderful website! You see the pictures above? That's just a small taste of what I got in store for you. Click the any of the pictures to see the entire collection.

Psst, I'm trying something new this time around. Instead of just showing you a gallery, I posted the pictures as a slideshow so it's more pleasing to watch and more importantly less clicking on your part. So just sit back and enjoy the photos!

This past Friday, I bought the awesome Canon 55-250mm IS from someone and it came with a lot of goodies! I still can't believe I got all that stuff for such a low price. Here's what I got:
  • Canon EFS f/4-5.6 55-250mm IS lens (costs $400 in Canada)
  • Canon 58mm UV filter (costs $40 in Canada)
  • Canon ET-60 lens hood (costs $35)
  • Canon/Lowepro Rezo 190 AW camera bag (costs $100)
  • Lowepro Toploader Zoom 50 AW (costs about $50)

Adding the costs up, it adds up to about $650 before taxes. However, I only paid $250 cash, flat, no tax. That's a $400 saving! Shopping online is indeed a great pleasure especially when you see deals like this. Everything was used of course but it was BARELY and I mean BARELY used! No scratches or anything! I even got the entire box and paper documents for the lens! This weekend was truly a great weekend.

Head's up, I'm going to try to review my gear one-by-one over the next few months. We'll see how that goes.
